The Shoprite Group is once again calling upon high-performing South African students to apply for its comprehensive bursary programme before 30 April. This intake is for the 2024/’25 academic year.
Bursary applications are open for students enrolled for degree studies in the following fields: Accounting, Biological Sciences, Criminology, Information Technology (IT), Logistics and Supply Chain, Retail Business Management, Food Sciences as well as Agricultural Sciences.
In the previous financial year, the retail group invested R14.9 million into its bursary programme, which succeeded in providing funding for 200 students.
The bursary provides cover for the following tertiary education expenses: tuition fees, books, and an allowance for the students’ accommodation.
The value of the bursary ranges between R30 000 and R60 000, depending on the student’s field of study and their institution of choice or preference.
Successful graduates are guaranteed employment by the retailer and enjoy access to the Shoprite Employee Wellness programme. Precious (26) from Taung in North West was appointed as a SAP
Functional Analyst through the Group’s apprenticeship programme after
completing her honours degree in BCom Information Systems at the North-West
University.
This is a continued effort offering the beneficiaries a seamless entry into the business allowing them to learn from the industry’s top talent, experts, and mentors.
