The Marumo Gallants will be looking to register another important league win against rookies Magesi FC when they meet first-time in an intriguing Betway Premiership encounter on Saturday, 7 December. The two teams will face off in the Dr RP Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein.
Kick-off is 17:45. The home lads are still spirited following a narrow win away to SuperSport United last Friday, 29 November. It was their second league win while their opponents, Magesi led by head coach Clinton Larsen lost 2-0 to Chippa United.
Both the visitors Magesi and the host Gallants, under Dan Malesela, head coach, are among the five clubs fighting to drift away from the bottom of the log. A point separates the five teams that include AmaZulu, TS Galaxy and Richards Bay.
While Malesela’s warriors continued improving steadily, misfiring of strikers remains a grave concern, needing attention. The home team’s goal-poachers continued to flash golden chances against SuperSport as in previous matches.
The visiting side Magesi returns to the Free State’ capital of Bloemfontein where they created a piece of history in South African football, when they won their maiden trophy of the Carling Black Label Knockout Cup. The Premiership debutant defeated star-studded Mamelodi Sundwons 2-1 in the final of the tournament played on 23 November – thus became the second team to lift the coveted trophy after Stellenbosch FC, who won it the previous season.
Larsen’s gutsy charges are benchmarking their cup win performance to improve to possible continue making Bloemfontein their happy hunting ground when they meet the Bahlabane Ba Ntwa.
