BLEOMFONTEIN – Talented wicket-keeper and batter Rethabile Nthoba from Botshabelo has been included in the South African U19 women’s squad, to compete in the Nigeria Cricket Federation Women’s T20I Invitational Tournament.

The international event is scheduled to take place in Nigeria from Wednesday 18 March to 29 March.

Nthoba’s inclusion in the country’s junior national team represents a proud moment for the Knights Women and herself.

Her selection signals she is on the right track to make a name for herself, and South Africa, on the international stage.

It rewards her sterling performance for the provincial teams, her hard work, dedication and fighting spirit.

Nthoba is regarded as an inspiration for the next generation of cricketers across the Free State province.

Having graduated from the Cricket South Africa (CSA) girls’ U16 National Week, she is a product of the Botshabelo Hub under coach Kamohelo Ntlhokoe, who was also the head coach of the Knights Girls’ U16 at the National Week in 2024.

Nthoba’s consistent performance also saw her named in the 24-player squad that attended a preparatory camp for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2027 in Bangladesh and Nepal.

This international sports event will feature 16 nations. The tournament is tentatively set to begin in January 2027.
